Milton Hershey School (MHS) is a top-tier private institution dedicated to providing students from disadvantaged backgrounds with an exceptional, career-focused education complete with housing, meals, and comprehensive support—all at no cost to families.

Founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, our school has the resources to ensure both students and staff thrive. We are currently seeking dedicated married couples to become flex houseparents. Flex houseparents play a crucial role in guiding and nurturing a family-like environment for a group of approximately 8-12 students living on campus.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Providing consistent, compassionate family-like support to students.
• Managing day-to-day household responsibilities such as transportation, administering medication, and budgeting.
• Starting by covering various student homes before settling into a dedicated one.

What We Offer:

• A competitive salary of $43,825 per person, totaling approximately $165,000 per couple, including free housing, meals during duty hours, and utilities.
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings accounts; life and disability insurance; and retirement savings plans.
• Relocation assistance as well as comprehensive paid training.
• A favorable schedule with nine days on duty followed by three days off, allowing for ample personal time while students are at school.
• A paid three-week vacation during the summer.

Qualifications:

• Experience in youth work or volunteering, especially with underserved populations.
• Legally married for at least two years; both spouses must be at least 27 years old.
• Maximum of three dependent children allowed to reside in student housing.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus. No alcohol is allowed during duty hours.
• Pet limitations apply: only fish and one approved breed of dog are permitted.
• A valid U.S. driver's license and the ability to drive student home vans.
• Willingness to lead daily devotions with students and attend Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services without proselytizing.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• The capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity, as all staff members serve as role models for our students.
• Both spouses must submit individual employment applications.
