Overview The Executive Partner (EP) is a trusted advisor to CPOs and procurement leaders from Global 1000 organizations and government agencies, helping them identify mission critical priorities, develop strategies, and achieve enterprise objectives. Relationship Management The EP manages a portfolio of senior executive client relationships, participates in account planning with Account Executives, and oversees the client lifecycle-from pre sale through onboarding, management, delivery, review, and renewal. Executing a smooth hand off from the sales team Regularly engaging the client in a substantive manner Creating a complete client profile Accurately identifying the client's agenda Developing an engagement (value) plan Participating with Sales in quarterly account reviews and preparing value added client interactions Sales and Marketing Support The EP supports client retention and contributes to product or regional growth through direct support of Gartner Sales in prospect cultivation, account plan development, and value demonstration activities. Research Support The EP facilitates client participation in research studies or case panels, aligns with Gartner research initiatives, and provides client feedback to the research organization. The EP works with analysts to develop and deliver CPO relevant research. Program Delivery Define and deliver innovative solutions by assessing client needs and developing a customized value plan aligned with Gartner Procurement strategy and product deliverables. Work with clients to advance procurement maturity through research, peer networking, and coaching. Critique client strategies, guide organization building, and assist in developing procurement strategies, priorities, and implementation plans. Establish and maintain working relationships with internal groups to design a comprehensive, sustainable set of key deliverables (targeted research, coaching sessions, analyst sessions). Direct and facilitate client peer group calls and/or meetings. Content Development and Management Participate in presentations. Engage in relevant research communities to keep topic knowledge current and share client insights with analysts. Facilitate client interaction and collaboration through the procurement client community portal and assisted connections. Lead and participate in roundtables and Gartner Exec Series webinars. Subject Matter Expertise The EP must be a senior business executive with demonstrated expertise in procurement strategy, execution, and performance improvement. The EP should be an accomplished current or former CPO who has managed significant P&L, direct reports, and a sizable organization. Other Requirements University graduate (Master's preferred) with 10+ years in senior management as a CPO, SVP, or EVP; OR 5+ years in a procurement executive role such as Partner in Procurement Consulting. Excellent interpersonal skills and humility when working with C level executives. Strong emotional intelligence and reflective listening ability. In depth understanding of the procurement industry and the CPO role. Clear grasp of the business value of procurement and alignment with business strategy. Critical thinking and problem solving skills to provide actionable, outcome based advice. Ability to lead and manage ambiguous situations. Superior verbal and written communication skills, plus facilitation and presentation proficiency. Energetic and sales savvy mindset. Collaboration and team leadership capabilities. Sales or business development experience with CXO level executives. Strong time and project management skills. Estimated base salary: $188,000 - $225,000 USD (actual salary may vary).
