Cultural and Political Advisor, Cleared (CAT III) Somalia

Job Description
Atlas Advisors, LLC (ATLAS) is seeking Somali linguists with a TS/SCI security clearance to advise and assist the Senior Leadership of the Joint Special Operations Task Force - Somalia (JSOTF-SOM). You will facilitate language interpretation and translation during key engagements with the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS). Additionally, you will apply knowledge of U.S. military operations and policies to develop an understanding of campaign plans and military objectives to provide analysis and advice on best practices.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• US Citizen
• TS/SCI security clearance
• Excellent command of English and Somali (2+ minimum, 3+ desired)
• Three (3) years of cultural advisory experience in Somalia
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the geopolitical situation in the Horn of Africa
• Willing to deploy to the AFRICOM AOR
• Ability to complete all US Government required pre-deployment medical and psychological screening
• Able to live and work in austere and harsh environments
• Able to manage stressful situations and function at a high level for extended periods
• Possess basic computer and typing skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• 5 years of experience as a linguist and cultural advisor
• Prior experience working with U.S. SOF elements
• Prior experience with U.S. military leaders in a deployed environment
• Native of Somalia
